Ever since I decided to make a concerted effort to change how I approached life, I have been immeasurably blessed. I cannot even begin to express my gratitude and awe for those who inspire me, daily, and encourage me to continue to ride the “happy train.” It takes a lot of energy to find the silver lining in each and every situation, but it’s energy well spent. The rewards have been breathtaking. I wish I could wave a magic wand and sprinkle this pixie dust called happiness on each and every person I love. But, sadly, happiness is a choice.
It seems like, too often, we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life that we’re always telling ourselves: “If I do this, and I do it long enough, then I’ll be happy….Happiness is not the brass ring at the end of the merry-go-round ride. It isn’t the result of getting all the other stuff right, but something you can do right now, and that then leads to getting the other stuff right”
When I read that line from “The Slight Edge,” (Jeff Olson) it made me sit up and take notice. Because it’s 100,000,000% true. Here’s the reality:
“Once you do what it takes to raise your everyday level of happiness, then you will become more successful, then you’ll become healthier, then you’ll find that relationship. The more you raise your own happiness level, the more likely you’ll start achieving all those things you want to achieve.”
My hope for you is that you will begin to make the choice to be happy.
