Seeking Him

Being Fearless

I picked up “Fearless: Imagine Your Life Without Fear” by Max Lucado the other day, the title in and of itself spoke to me. I guess you could say that it was God speaking to me…

One of the first highlights I made was the line, “What if faith, not fear, was your default reaction to threats?” (6), and it made me sit and wonder…

What if…

How would life be different?

Did you know that “do not be afraid” is the one statement He made more than any other (11)?

So, why don’t we have faith? Why do we allow fear to overrule our thoughts and lead us away from His calling for us? What are we so afraid of that we lose sight of our faith and go down a different path? If we are not in control, and He is…then, why? Where did our wiring get mixed up?

It’s okay to be afraid – but it’s not okay to succumb to fear and allow it to dictate our life. Our relationship with Christ should be unwavering enough that we rely on Him for strength and salvation. I know this is so much easier to say than to do…but today, today I chose to be fearless.
